Five best friends who were bridesmaids in each other's weddings are all now state senators

Five longtime female friends who were bridesmaids in each other’s weddings have each won their state Senate races in this year's midterm elections in the United States.
The women who are all Democratic candidates — Tammy Story, Faith Winter, Jessie Danielson, Brittany Pettersen and Kerry Donovan — all swept their state Senate in Colorado, People reported Wednesday.
The women, who call themselves "The Fab Five," helped flip the state Senate to a Democratic majority for the first time in five years, the publication noted.
Danielson, who currently serves as member of the Colorado House of Representatives, told the magazine:
We were all in it together.
Each of the women said they helped the others face negative criticism and slander during their campaigns.
Winter said:
Through the campaign, the five of us were very supportive of each other. We had several text chains where we would check in with one another and see how we were doing.
If a particularly bad ad or piece of mail came out, we would reassure each other on the text chain, ‘Have you seen the mail? It’s so awful, how are you doing?’
The friends are among the more than 2,000 women who are gearing up to take office in state legislatures nationwide next year.

South African boy, 7, stabbed to death by older student in school toilet

A South African boy, believed to be 7-years-old, was stabbed to death in a school's toilet by a teenage student who attends a nearby secondary school.
The teenager accused of stabbing the younger student is in police custody. The teenager is accused of hiding overnight, waiting for the victim in a school's toilet.
The victim, a grade one pupil, was stabbed multiple times, the authorities said. The suspect was thought to have been in a relationship with the victim's older sister, they added. The young boy may have been targeted after the suspect fell out with his older sister, the local authority said.
The suspect is a student in grade 11, which is usually for 16 and 17-year-olds, who attends a nearby secondary school. The victim was in grade one, usually for six and seven-year-olds.
The police are carrying out further investigations at the primary school in Makapanstad in North West province, BBC reports.
The local education authority said in a statement that the suspect "apparently slept in the toilet overnight without anyone knowing he was there." He then stabbed the victim, who was taken to a local clinic but medics were unable to save his life.

Photos show how Anthony Hopkins' Malibu mansion was miraculously left untouched by the California wildfire that razed his neighbor's house

New photos show how the Malibu home of legendary Welsh actor, Anthony Hopkins, was miraculously left untouched following the deadly Woolsey fire that burnt down his neighbour's home.
Hopkins' next-door-neighbour's home was completely levelled by the flames but the fire only just missed the actor's Malibu home. While much of the earth around Hopkins' home was scorched, his beachfront property was left completely untouched.

Mark Zuckerberg says he won't step down as Facebook chairman

Facebook Chief Executive, Mark Zuckerberg is pushing back against calls for him to step down as chairman and hopes to continue working with his longtime chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg.
Zuckerberg made the comments in a recent interview with CNN where he addressed the controversies pertaining to the social-media giant. He said stepping down as chairman in the near term is “not the plan” after some big shareholders proposed to push him out of that role following a string of management missteps.
According to Facebook’s latest proxy, his share of the voting power among Facebook investors was 59.9%, meaning shareholders can’t force him out, according to Dow Jones Newswires. Zuckerberg called Sandberg an “important partner” who is overseeing Facebook’s efforts to tackle some of the biggest problems the company is facing. “I hope that we work together for decades more to come,” he said.
He and Sandberg have come under fire for Facebook’s slow response to uncovering evidence of Russian manipulation during the U.S. presidential race in 2016 and stopping the spread of misinformation on the platform. They have also faced scrutiny for Facebook’s privacy practices and its role in inflaming violence in countries like Myanmar.

Man arrested for having sex with horse confesses to carrying out the act 4 times a week

A man arrested for allegedly having sex with a miniature horse has confessed to the act and said he engages in the act 4 times a week. He also added that he always used a condom because he "didn't want to get a disease".
Nicolas Sardo, 21 is accused of having sex with the animal, called Jackie G, on multiple occasions. A witness told police she saw Nicholas Sardo, of Florida, engaging in sexual activity with the horse on her family's property on October 13, according to a statement from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Another woman also contacted the sheriff's office saying she, too, caught Sardo in the act and confronted him about it.

When questioned by the authorities, Sardo reportedly admitted to having sex with the small horse four times in one week. The 21-year-old said he wore a condom during each of the sexual encounters "because he didn’t want to get a disease from the horse."
The horse is owned by Sardo's relatives. Officers did not say if the horse suffered injuries.

The sheriff's office reported that Sardo admitted that what he did was wrong and that he was a "sick man."
Sardo has been arrested and charged with four counts of bestiality, sexual contact with an animal, punishable by a year in jail, and $1,000 fine per count. He is being held at the Marion County Jail and his bail was set at $4,000.

Man savagely beats his ex-girlfriend for breaking up with him (Photos)

A man who savagely attacked his ex-girlfriend and beat her beyond recognition after she broke up with him, has been jailed for 28 months.
The man identified as Jake Bushell left
Jade Gallagher with multiple injuries after he showed up at her home drunk and high on cocaine.
According to UK Mirror, Mr. Bushell, launched the “despicable” attack on her October 21 as he wouldn’t take no for an answer when Jade announced she was done with the relationship.

Before his arrest, the 22-year-old was already subject to a court order for stalking Miss Gallagher and using a ladder to creep into her room in the middle of the night.
According to the Chronicle Live, Bushell, who appeared to sneer at the camera in his mugshot, has been jailed for 28 months and banned from contacting his victim indefinitely.

Miss Gallagher said in a statement: "I thought he was going to kill me.
"I'm sure if I had not managed to escape he would have killed me.
"He showed no signs of stopping and was completely out of control.
"Even in the street, with neighbours watching, he continued to assault me.
"It was completely unprovoked and the punching was relentless, even when I was unconscious. He was still hitting me when I came round."

The court heard the attack happened at her home six weeks after he was in court and given a community order and restraining order for stalking Miss Gallagher by pestering her with phone calls and climbing through her bedroom window during the night, UK Mirror reported.
Prosecutor Claire Anderson told the court the former couple had both been at the same party that night and the violence flared back at her house.
